Once on board our occupiers' business' just seem to grow; a happy camp is a productive camp.
Look at Lakeside's visual prominence, location, level of amenities, quality of environment and ease of access & parking, and you'll start to understand why so many notable companies with over 3,000 professionals have chosen - and continue to choose - Lakeside North Harbour.
This is a strategic move for the firm and will further enhance our position on the south coast as a major player in providing legal services to businesses, organisations, private clients, contacts and referrers who are based in and around the Solent area and beyond.
The legal landscape is changing rapidly and we need to be working from a position of strength. We therefore believe that by having two significant locations in Portsmouth and Southampton we can offer ease of access to our full range of services, from premises which reflect our modern and professional approach to the services we deliver and the clients which we serve. Parking at 1000 Lakeside is much easier for clients and the whole environment should make visiting us a very much more relaxed affair in what will be an exceptional location.
Miles Brown, Managing Partner
1000 Lakeside is head and shoulders above other schemes in the area and the best site for us to develop our commercial and private client base across the region.
We were particularly impressed by the atrium, which adds an enormous amount to the building, the car parking provision and landscaping. The rent levels also compared extremely well with other developments in the area.

The Southern Co-operative occupies 15,300 sq ft of office space in Building 1000 on the Lakeside North Harbour campus.
The Southern Co-operative, which operates community food stores and funeral homes across the south, moved to 1000 Lakeside, after outgrowing its Fareham head office premises. More than 100 staff relocated to the landmark building, adjacent to the M27, in the summer of 2011..
The Southern Co-operative employs 3,500 people generating £260million in sales and has ambitious further expansion plans. Chief Executive Mark Smith said: "Thanks to our success in developing the business, we had outgrown where were and there was simply not enough room for us to effectively support the continued expansion of our business. We needed more space and a more modern environment to support new ways of working."
"This was a hugely exciting development for us all that has enabled us to support our stores in delivering continuous improvement in customer service into the future."
Mark Smith, CEO
…says that Lakeside satisfied every criteria when it came to finding a new location:
“We are in the ideal location, with large windows overlooking the lake and we have been able to plan and design our unit all on one floor. This gives us ample room along with an enhanced working environment for our 70 staff, with plenty of room to grow. Importantly, visitors are always very impressed by the location of our office and its stunning views.”
The location of Lakeside also gives SPB a wider employment pool and staff access to a free shuttle bus service to transport hubs, and easy road links to Portsmouth, Southampton and the surrounding areas, including the Isle of Wight, which is home to some of the SPB employees.
“Lakeside is a professional, quality location which has helped to promote and enhance the SPB brand and is an important foundation on which we can build our future growth,” says Lorraine.
“At the same time, the working environment for our employees has been vastly improved with excellent facilities on site, including a nursery which is used by many of our staff. The Management Team at Lakeside is also very accommodating and keen to respond to any requirements we have. All in all, it has been an excellent move for SPB.”
